Do garter snakes really eat rattlesnakes?

Guess here’s living proof:
Not sure how it ended, I tossed the pair under a bush and they were both gone in the morning.

That is a King Snake. They are immune to rattlesnake venom and do indeed eat rattlesnakes.

I once found a baby rattle snake about 10 inches long and a lizard about six inches long hooked together mouth to mouth. Both were dead. I don't know who was trying to eat who.
