After adding the folding front seat mod, the pivot arms jab me in the hips. It’s ok for short flights, but on long flights it’s a pain. Wondering what people with that mod are using for extra cushioning.
Place a high density foam pad in-between your seat cushion and the springs. Think stadium seat pad or I use a camo turkey cushion from Wal-Mart under my bottom cushion for height adjustment.
Those are very nice. Planning to re-do the back seat with a safari-style seat, so I'd probably only order the front for now. Do you know about how much to they charge per seat?
You might benefit from removing the seat springs and replacing with a hinged piece of aluminum. Eliminate spring sag. Even with that my bottom cushion is thicker than normal to make me sit higher to help see over the nose better. This seat has a different folding back but it works the same with Atlee’s folding seat mod.
Here are pictures of a PA18 seat modified with the Atlee Dodge folding seat STC. We sent a sewat to Oregon Aero to have them make a pattern so the seat back didn't get pushed up when folding the seat and the seat would actually fold down. It works very well.
