NC35111 isn't "the family cub," or the original NC35111 either, but with so many pilots in the family "the family cub" is overbooked and I had to buy my own. (And that's not really a problem. )
(From my homemade POH): C/n 11780 is not the “original” NC35111 (c/n 6119 lost 12.7.41) but is painted as such. On that date two unarmed civilian J-3C-65s owned by K-T Flying Service of Honolulu Hawai’i were shot down by the IJN. Three members of the California National Guard taking lessons were killed in the attack, Corporal Clyde C Brown on NC-26950 c/n 4270: and Sergeant Henry C Blackwell [pilot], and Sergeant Warren D Rasmussen on board NC35111 c/n 6119.
