Sutton exhaust with the Artic upgrade. It will literally melt your boot if you put it next to the firewall outlet

They put expanded metal on the outside of the muffler can rather than studs. Transfers a ton more heat as Bill pointed out. I have melted a few things with it.

Melting boots is a good thing? I worry about my defrost temp and my boots are nowhere close to melting.

What orientation is the expanded metal placed in? As cylindrical spacers between muffler and muff walls, or ?

No spacers. The inside can is just wrapped with one layer.
