Since winter has arrived and this years float season has ended I finally have the time to post some pictures of my build.
I bought this project in the spring of 2015. The previous owner said he hit a tree on landing sticking up out of a lake. It sat for 9 years before he decided to sell it. The left wing was totally destroyed. Everything else needed a lot of attention to say the least.
Like most people and first time projects I figured I would have it up and going in a year. I couldn’t have been more wrong. As most of you know the more you dig into something like this the more you have to fix. In the end I ended up stripping it down and rebuilding from the ground up. 5.5 years later I finally got it flying. I have no regrets. Although it’s hard to see the end of the tunnel at times it was an extremely enjoyable project. Now I get to enjoy flying it.
I want to thank this forum and everyone on it for the mass amount of knowledge and info found here. Although I am not a huge contributor I spent hours lurking in the background researching and gaining knowledge over the years.
