Well I left before the Virgin Mary but I did get a kiss from a Smiling Judy when I got home. She could tell by the smile on my face how wonderful the day was. Truly one in a thousand! Thanks fellas and Teddy when are we going to Maine?

I love the oddities and it’s fun when NY Glenn’s buddy shows up with his Ercoupe on skis during the winter. Or recently the RV8 on skis.
But you have to know you’re a badass when you fly your delta wing to iceport 2021 and Brad Thornberg captures it.

8A, where we were in Blue Mt lake yesterday John has a 185 amphib also at his dock summers. The next place over had a SPB for years with a Mallard sitting there. But you probably know that. This gas pump sat on that dock since the forties

Are you referring to the Knox SPB with the hangar? I visited there once. That was the Knox of Knox geletine. Years ago when I was using a Widgeon they had theirs up there and I dropped in there once. That was many years ago.

Bitter-sweet day yesterday. Second in a row with temps climbing towards 50 degrees. Snow has all but vanished from my two strips, however while out working the pups a flock of Red Winged Blackbirds descended on the feeders.
I know it's coming but I'm just not ready to give it up, ski flying is my favorite. On the other half-hand nothing prettier sounding than courting birds and spring peepers.

In our village in AK it’s called the season of mud and dog ****. (Lots of dogs and as the snow goes the leaving appear from the snow)
That might it for skis, had to shovel some snow on to the bare ground to get out of my hangar, then because that snow melted while I was out flying, shovel some more to get back into my hangar.

Did that for weeks some winters for 25 years. I'm really sad to see our snow receding and ice turning that snow cone color that means the end is near. Was a fun ski year, just shy of 50 hrs. Jeff probably got 100 or more.

Ice conditions were minimal...
Lakes will be open water soon, beginning of april I predict. Ice only sinks in early may usually.
