Garmin 796 and ADS-B in

Hello all,
I am a new Supercub owner, low time pilot, and inexperienced. My brand new (1955) SuperCub came with a Panel mounted 796. I am looking for a suggestion as to ADS-B in receiver and pilot App that will mate nicely with what i have. i would rather not do the mini Ipad and foreflight/Sentry thing if possible so as to keep the cockpit simple and uncluttered to concentrate on flying and not screens.

any advice would be great.

thanks!

MZ

The GDL 50 series In’s will Bluetooth to your 796 and show everything that’s available. That’s what I use.

The GDL will also provide ADHRS info. Synthetic vision becomes a useful screen. And if you carry a smart phone the Garmin Pilot app will make your phone as functional as your GPS.

If you go with the gdl-39 or gdl-50 series stuff, you can get a harness from Garmin that's pretty much plug & play.

Web

PS- if you find a used GDL39? No ADHRS, unless it's specifically a GDL39-3D. The current models in the -50 series all have ADHRS.
