I compared it to the landing gear attach points and it doesn’t fit anything. I got into contact with one of the guys who flew my Cub in the 60’s. He said that it had biplane wings on it at one point. I wonder if this fitting might be associated with the lower wings?

That is a ski attachment fitting for Federal C2200 skis. The saddle sets up against the underside of the axle, with a horizontal bolt passing through the axle. The two flanges face forward which attach to a linkage holding the ski on. The tire stays on the plane and sets on top of the ski. I only know this as I recently saw the installation prints for these skis on a Cub. I believe I saw the prints in the Northland drawings in a file called "Ski Installation".
