Observation glass / L-21

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone has done the L-21 type windows WITHOUT doing the extended greenhouse top glass? (PA-18 )

I have not seen it but could be a good way to keep temps down if you fly in the south. However, if you tend to stuff you cub to the limit then you may also need to add interior protection to the area. What is the mission?

I’m the wife and am pushing for the side window upgrade since we are recovering, but don’t feel like I NEED the extended glass top, but that’s the only way I’ve seen it done.
How much extra headroom do you get with the glass top by removing the paneling? That does sound nice, and less cramped.

since HE gets extended baggage, I should be able to get more glass!
