Does anyone recognize this alternator? Lost a bearing in it today. Has a B&C Regulator. Lycoming O-360-A4M No tags, and I cant find any log book entry. Weighs 7.4 lbs

Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks, hoping to just replace and get back in the air. But that is an option for sure.

Just a hip shot. Looks like and old automotive alternator. Or, possibly, one from an early Cessna kit to convert from generator to alternator.

Web

Looking over on vans forums i think i found it. Your right, automotive most likely. I think from a '76 honda

Take it to your local auto parts store and ask them what they have to match it. Should be short money to exchange when compared to airplane$$$. Don't tell them what it's for.

I think I found it. Ordered one, it's one day out. Ya, I told them it's on a old generator. The shops here are all "year, make, and model?" Not very many knowledgeable patient ones left.

$38 with lifetime warranty. We'll see if it's right.

That's if you can find an old school auto parts place with an old school counterman.
Nowadays they need the make & model of car it came off of, to find the part in their computer.
<sigh>

Well, it's too late now,but...
It looks like an AC Delco. I would look for an auto electric shop. They'll rebuild about anything.
Reference for next time:p

I'll probably repair the old one and shelf it. No shops like that anywhere near here. Small town

We'll, it's not the 70's honda one. This one is quite a bit smaller. Back to the search.

Looks alot like this 1981 honda civic google found, he has several pics and videos here https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=91213

Just replacing the bearing should be easy, bearing is probably the same in many models, bring the bearing to Napa and get a new one

that's my backup plan. Was hoping to find this and get back going quickly. But I think I caught it early enough that the bearing is the only thing bad.

Well, I asked over on the VANS forum. I think I found it. We'll see when I have one in my hand to compare

A man over there ID'd it as a Lightweight kit that was sold in the 90's by Mark Landoll. He replaced his last year and passed on the part #. Its from a 1970 Toyota pickup. 35 amp.
