Highly enjoyable vacation without many tourists. 50 on the flight north and 60 coming back. (737-800 / Sun Country) No cruise ships, out of state motor homes, few tour buses. Just the aggressive Alaskan locals making the most out of all the extra space. Came home with #100 of fish so I am happy. Did the Harding ice field, Fort McGilvray WWII tunnel and gun complex out of Seward, Big Halibut out of Whittier, salmon and rockfish on Resurrection Bay, and special tour of Elmendorf A.F.B. with Tessys daughter who is an Airman there. Sad about the mid-air near Sterling and also a fellow was killed by a bear several miles from our campsite at Hope when we were hiking there.
