I’m in the process of restoring a ‘46 -12 (nc2439m) and am looking for some guidance in how how
much “play” is acceptable in the trim screw/yoke assembly. Should it be tight like a nut & bolt or have a little wiggle. At this point the plane is torn down for recovering and the tail feathers are removed. Will the “loose” feeling tighten upon re-installation of the control surfaces? I bought the plane as a project so have no point of reference. Is it possible for the yoke thread to get worn enough to warrant replacement? Thanks in advance... Andy
