Short field considerations in a Malibu; does this translate to STOL aircraft?

My former hangar neighbor just published a video on go/ no go decision making in a Malibu. Mark is a Ph.D in Physics, CFI and inventor of some cool optical stuff that will change our lives at some point.

In this YouTube video Mark combines some good CFI type advice with a bit of math to teach Malibu pilots what to look for on t/o roll. I think there are things for us to learn from Mark.

Thoughts?

Worth a look.

That 70% 1/2 of the runway rule is one of Sparky Imeson's rule of thumbs from years back. It's a good one to follow!

Yes, and also that's just to break ground - nothing about climbout. Also, that rule assumes a constant acceleration rate.
