It would be a definite advantage in a STOL contest. It would weigh much less than fuel tanks with gasoline. It would also eliminate the dripping sight gages that plague Super Cub affectionados.

Damn, affectionados is a hard word to spell. It is not in spellchecker.

If there is anyone out there who hasn't seen the movie that spawned the 12G1 lexicon, do take advantage of the National Lull to sit back and watch it. It's held up well. I hadn't seen it since 1985 and got genuinely concerned as to whether they were going to make it back or not.....

At least the kids now know why Daddy was always fond of yelling out in times of children issues "It's your kids, Marty!! Something's gotta be done about your kids!!" Damn movie wasn't wrong at all.....
