    Project Loon Baloons on FR24

    While looking at flightradar24, I saw all these things that looked like balloons in South America. Turns out, they are balloons made to extend connectivity (cell / wifi) to remote areas and the fly just under 60K feet. Interesting stuff... https://loon.com/

    We have used a few in Alaska at different times.

    One of the ones I was involved with related to a threat on critical national security infrastructure. Lots of com gear and sensors, cameras etc were carried high by balloon
