PA-12 gear change to PA-18 gear

I don't remember whose aircraft this was, but it shows the tabs for the cabane. There is also a gusset plate added to the outside of the cluster that wasn't part of the Atlee STC that I have.

is the gusset for the cabane all
that has to be welded? How much of a PITA is it to
do on a covered airplane? I’m guessing you don’t have to take the structure out from
under the seat?

thanks

It would be really difficult to weld the tabs in without removing the floor.
Left gear leg in gray, cabane in greenish. looking from the front past the elevator cable.
The truss has been removed.

Buddy of mine has a 12 converted to 18 gear.
They left the structure above the floor,
it complicated putting in an adjustable PA18 seat.
