Does anyone have a FA or a 337 for installing non TSO/FAA seat belts, these are SFI 16.1 certified belts for cars, racing etc., shoulder harness in a certified cub.
These are built to the Aerospace FAA 8043 requirements.
Thanks
Doug

Shoulder harness - no problem. Seat belt? Take it out at annual and put a flimsoid American Standard with TSO tags in there.
I have always used Air Force belts. No tags. Asked a Fed once - he said "we don't really give older airplanes that much scrutiny." Your IA may be a bit more OCD.
I did get tags a while back. A rigger had apparent authority to re-web.
91.205 requires an "approved seat belt with an approved metal to metal latching mechanism" I doubt you will get a field approval for a non TSO seat belt.
Simpson Belts now offers a TSO Aviation Double Pull down 5 point belt, now to get the papers in for approval. Meets the AS8043 requirements 1.8" wide

I have had Hooker 5 point harnesses in 4 airplanes with one of them being certified. Hooker can fix you up.
