Wing washout

Guys, I‘m building the Wag Aero sport trainer. Are you setting washout(shimming the back spar) before gluing the ribs or is there enough flex in the wood to do it with the lift strut? No where in the plans do I find any mention of washout.

Thanks,
Sarpy Sam

Build the wings with the washout established; it's easy to do. That way any residual stresses are minimized.

I think Gordon's right. BTW, we like pictures!

I have a selfish reason because I'm in the middle of making wood wing ribs for a Wag 2+2. You are right, no mention of washout that I can see in the plans.

You might do some research to determine if you even want washout in your wings. Many if not most rectangular wings are not built with any twist in them. Your choice with your build.
