Maine Bushwackers/Make a Wish Fly in

I know its a bit early to spread the word, the 2 big western fly ins just finished up and New Holstein on the radar. We are on the calendar for Aug 3&4. Despite a crappy rainy day we still managed to raise and donate over $5000 to Make a wish Maine. I want to get the word out so all the heavy hitters can make their plans to come to Maine
Dan Dufault has graciously donated both a T3 Tailwheel, and a autographed version of his latest, a paddle pump. Canít thank Dan and Terri enough, we are sure lucky to have folks like them up here
CubCrafters Northeast with everyoneís pal Mark Keneston has again donated 4 hours in some snazzy version from Cubcrafters he always has in the barn. Big thanks again to Mark and to Cubcrafters. Working on a couple more silent auction items stay tuned

Friday we have plans to head into the mountains and have lunch at the prettiest spot in Maine at Carrabassett valley, then chase a couple rivers south, thru the dead river gorge. I did this last week at flood stage it was spectacular

Saturday is Wings for Wishes on the Waterfront 10 to 2 on the lake in Dexter
We have parking for lots of planes. Bring your taildragger and wallet and make a positive thing in a deserving kids life. You will feel pretty small around some of these kids

Saturday evening is all you can stuff in Maine Lobster. If I can find JP again Iím sure he will supply some sort of Maine microbrew. Bonfire in Brendaís new firepit

Still working on Sunday, most folks head out so itís low key. Might make a coast swing?

Stay tuned for more, see you all in August

Andy your marketing plan needs work.

    Try this :
Look for the beautiful woman, and if she's standing near an oversized Citabria, flown by a lean crop hardened potato farmer, please come say hi!

Crawling on up to August pretty quickly. One week to go folks! I have 12 beds in the close by nature cabins on a first come basis, speak up for a comfy bed

Come on up thursday if you like, theres plenty to keep busy. Friday is over to Sugarloaf Regional in Carrabasset Valley. Arrive at 11, then lunch at noon at the close by Sugar B0wl restaruant
right after lunch we will brief on the run across the lake and then down the dead river gorge, chase the kennebec to bingham, then we will regroup there.

Saturday we will be up to dexter to land in the pasture, and Wings for Wishes on the Waterfront begins at 10 am. Collect some money, sounding like we should have some seaplanes as well
out of there by 3 or so, back to home Fairground Field to mess around, I promised a couple of front seat demos in the carbon cub. Hopefully mark will be there to take your deposits as well
All you can stuff in Maine lobster and shipyard beer, Right JP? Havent seen hide nor hair of the boy, I suspect he will have to come up for air. Hell, his plane is in the hangar, we can fly the pants off it anyway

Sunday could be a run up to Millinocket for breakfast with the Campbells
    Run to belfast for lunch?

either way, looking forward to seeing all of you, and putting our favorite hobby to an inspiring use. We hope to have some Maine Wish kids there on Sat. You will feel as humbled as I was to talk with them.

The trash was getting ripe so I went to the dump this morning.
Seems the dump opens at 8 not 7 so I had time to burn.
Tom Ford was nice enough to help me with a condition inspection yesterday so the plane was covered in fingerprints. Clean plane, dry plane with the fan, fly the plane because it is running. Fly plane to the south shore to look for sharks. Spot an 8 to 10 foot hammer head shark 50 feet from the beach. Land at Katama airfield to report shark. Get to dump at 11.
    A great morning.

Ok, I got Bob in the water, before he launched me he said " no need to start it was just had it running " so as I'm drifting down the Hudson and it won't start because it's out of fuel I pull myself to shore with the anchor. Put some fuel in and bleed some fuel the little Perkins comes to life

Ok, I can go play in Maine now

Maybe if you cover up your N number, place some removable camo on the plane and then land a long way from Massachusetts, you might get away with it.

Ok. after seeing this whole long thread... I'm feeling foolish.

I decided to come up Saturday after I saw Jeff Russell's post. I sent him a message, and pretty much got just the GPS spot, and a time. (the frequency would have helped) .

Made it there, and got to connect a few faces with facebook pictures and profiles.

    Looking forward to Bowman.

Tonight is a wrap with everyone back home and all the local birds tucked in

i cant begin to thank all of you for your advice, planning and sweating for the Wings on the Waterfront success. As of tonight our pilotgroup and our little community have raised over 11000 and climbing, with more promised. Make a wish Maine is linking a credit card portal for those who asked about credit cards

i really need to thank the following
