Brake pedal assembly

Does anyone know why Piper angle cut the end of the brake pedal tube 45 degrees and caps it? Doesn't seem to be any sort of clearance issue, so all I can assume is that it would be for strength. The issue I have with that theory is the other end is left open and square.

81232-18 is just labeled disc, as in a welded cap.

I would rather have the end cap run up the tube a bit, whether or not it is square end or angle cut. Both ends personally but that matters more with thin tube construction.
