    Roundup Montana

    My Dad grew up in Roundup. My grandfather was the town cop... He did some coal mining. He also owned land there, and raised sheep. Depression era. It was a tough life in those days.

    Times were tough back then for sure. I've read the County Commissioners minutes in the late 20's to 1961, and citizens would approach the Commissioner asking for $3.00 for a pair of boots/shoes, $4.00 for overalls, $15.00 a month to buy food, etc. The people were in dire need.
