    PA-18-160 by owner

I finally decided its time to sell my Cub. I've had it for nearly 20 years and its been a great ride. I don't fly much anymore, and the airplane needs to get flown by somebody who can enjoy it as much as I did.

It's a 1952 Pa-18-160 totally rebuilt in 1989. Total time on the airframe is 2565. The engine has 1430 hours since major and 220 since top overhaul (chrome cylinders and new pistons). Compression at last annual was 75,78,78,76. The annual is due next month and I will sell it with a fresh annual.

The airplane has many mods and is in excellent condition. Its not cosmetically perfect, but it is pretty darn good. It has been hangared for the past 11 years. Its been professionally maintained with regular maintenance and upgrades. Fabric and paint is in great shape.

Mods include: 160 hp Lycoming O-320 b2b; Borer 82-43 prop; Micro VGs; Atlee 3" HD extended gear; Borer 3rd seat STC and 1750 GW increase; ABW 31" Bushwheels on Cleveland wheels; ABW "baby bushwheel tail wheel and fork; 26" Goodyear "blimp" tires on Cleveland wheels; Scott 3200 tailwheel assembly and tire; North River booster double puck brakes; Atlee Dodge large extended baggage; Atlee Dodge 'x' cabin brace and tail brace; Atlee Dodge safety cables; Atlee Dodge shoulder harness attachments, lifting rings, spar reinforcements, tie downs, under seat battery, under rear seat storage, folding pilots seat, left and right fueling steps, 3' metal belly, Heavy duty lifetime lift struts and forks; Atlee Dodge "hotrod" muffler, Steve's gascolator, Reiff pre heater, Airwolf remote oil filter, rear mounted large oil cooler, light weight starter, map pockets... You get the idea.. it has lots of mods.

Panel includes ICOM 200 radio, King xpndr w/mode C, EI fuel flow/carb heat gauge, EI CHT/EGT gauge, SIRS compass, NAT intercom, Univair fuel selector, full panel instrument lights and dimmer, Garmin 296 GPS (with AK topo memory card) remote compass, Atlee Dodge defroster and cabin/rear seat heat. it is also plumbed for hydraulic wheel skis (not included). Also has full wing/tail/windscreen covers and Cunningham custom engine and prop covers. Peterson auto fuel STC.

Lastly, since I'm 6'4" it was always difficult for me to get into a standard Supercub front seat. So, I was able to talk the Anchorage FSDO chief into giving me a one time field approval (337) to extend the seat rails back 3" for additional legroom. The seat moves forward to its usual position as normal, but the extra rear travel makes it a whole lot more useful for taller pilots. The seat is reinforced with extra gussets as well. The rear stick is modified to allow use with the seat at its furthest rear position. The stick is also removable and has an Atlee Dodge rear stick cover.

Calculated weight with 26" Goodyears and Scott 3200 t/w is 1092 lbs.

Asking $92,500 Contact me by PM. I'd like to sell to somebody who will fly it and enjoy it rather than to a broker who will just flip it. It has not yet been advertised on any other site.

I’ve seen this Cub and it is a nice, clean airplane at a reasonable price.

Looks like the sale is a done deal. Just waiting on some final paperwork and the new owner to come pick it up. Thanks to all who looked and made offers.
