Flew to Lewistown yesterday for some flying. Minus 15 F when I departed BZN, minus 1 arriving in LWT. Great flights with a couple folks locally, then a somewhat epic spectacle on the way home……

Yep, a bit slow….TAS was 115 mph when I took this shot.
Flathead Pass, the “Portal” to home, just around the corner. Gotta get through or over the pass first though.
All in all a great first day of 2022, and some fun flying….

18F in Coeur d’Alene. It’s perfect, reminding me of the Flathead valley winters. for the first time, with plenty of powder over a good base. I need an airplane with skis! A messy 30 + snow arriving overnight ruin it all

Took the Cub on straight skis to Seeley Lake yesterday afternoon. Not as cold Mike as you saw, + single digits, but coming back there was spindrift coming off the Mission Mountains too. On my drive home in Northern MN this morning. I'll be flying to Fairbanks later this week to see what REAL cold is.
Coldest reported so far (6pm 1/2/22) in Alaska is the village of beaver in the Yukon Flats......-57*F. Only -44 at the Fairbanks airport but warmer north in town with a slight breeze mixing the temp inversion. Going to be colder tomorrow through wednesday.

Pagosa Springs, SW Colorado, -7 at the airport yesterday morning. 30" of snow since Christmas, 88" up at the ski area.
-9 on the drive to work this morning in Anchorage
Ah, scenic Beaver on the Yukon. Spent many nights there winter. Spring and summer, on moose projects. Really nice folks there. But, does get a bit chilly.
