Split Nose Bowl

Well, I did the search and read all the old posts on the subject. What seems to be the current info to get split nosebowl for my PA-12 and PA-11? I don't mind splitting the original aluminum ones if that is the only option. Is there a better solution? Randy Appling carbon fiber or STC to split my own?
