Group Liability Insurance for Private Airports

I have been looking at insurance for my Seaplane Base and tripped on a group policy being offered by the Virginia Airstrip Owners Association.

Here is a link to their coverage info: http://vaoa.us/about-2/group-liabili...vate-airports/

Any thoughts on rates you pay for coverage and are you a member of a group policy?

Does any other organization offer this coverage for their group?

Is this something the RAF could/should look into?

I am a member of the MN Pilot's Association and would love to see them organize a group policy (Does anyone know the founder?).

    Talk amongst yourselves....

Paul, the RAF has been all over that before. There was a deal for a while where people could get discounted insurance on their strips, I will have to check and see if that is still active.

Please do, I would be interested myself. Especially if it covers lost Jenklahomans.
I don't know where you've been me lad, but I see you won first Prize!

About 30 states list aviation as a legitimate form of recreation in their recreational use statutes. Assuming you live in one of these 30 states, what is the purpose of additional liability insurance?

I ask because I have a lot on an airpark in a state where aviation is listed as a legitimate form of recreation, and I (perhaps naively) feel like my exposure is extremely low.

In Massachusetts the law and it specifically includes aviation basically says if you allow the use of your property at no charge for recreation then you are not held responsible.I would not want to be the landowner testing the strength of this law and don't have idea if any aviation cases have tested it.
    Maybe the RAF rep knows
