Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas Supercub.org Girls and Boys!
It has been quite a year up at the North Pole, with my Elves working at a feverish pace to reward those girls and boys who have been very, very good, and to mine some lumps of coal for those who have, shall I say, fallen a little bit short (SteveE, there is still time to redeem yourself).
First of all, please let me take a moment to thank Larry Cassem, my ace mechanic, for keeping my flyin' sheen (to quote CloudDancer) in tip top shape! Here is Larry with one of my helpers...
Next, I want to thank Grant Wallace and Miguel at Aerotechnique for working over my hydraulic pump on an emergency basis! Wow, what a super job Grant's shop did on making it possible to operate my skis this year!
Well, last evening I received the most glorious news and photos from Dan Carroll's hangar. Dan, a Supercub.org supporter, hosted this year's Santa's Super Cub Decorating Party, and from the photos it looked like my Elves did a super duper job of decorating my Super Cub!
Here are Darrel and Vivian Starr...Vivian is recovering from foot surgery, but that didn't keep her from getting out to help direct the activities!
Here is Wayne Meier, another Supercub.org supporter, putting my name on the nose!
Here is Julie Corfman chatting with Vivian...
...and supervising the operations
...and they took a moment for the annual group photo
Sadly, over the years we have had members of the decorating team Head West, and some have moved to other parts of your Great Country. They were missed, but certainly not forgotten.
Randy will be ferrying my Cub to Park Rapids today for my flight to Johanning Field on Saturday, Dec 15, and I'll return to the North Pole to continue checking my list and see if, by some small miracle, SteveE has rallied to get off the Naughty list! Randy will ferry the Cub back to his new digs at Lino Airpark to prepare for the Ron and Cathy Barrows Santa's Flyin on December 22. A busy time for all, but a rewarding time, as well.
Christmas is, of course, my most favorite time of the year.
Merry Christmas to all! Spread the Joy, Reach out to those in need, Tell your loved ones how much you love them while you can. Get out and Fly.
