Reinforcing plate p/no 11473-47

The Parts manual requires 6 reinforcing plates, but the drawings I have contain no information about this dash number. Can anyone help with what they are made of, where and how they attach, and do they go under or over the fabric?

Thanks flybynite, where abouts on the trailing edge does it go, under or over the fabric and what are they made of and how are they attached?

cheers Bill

They go on top of the fabric and under the tapes in the aileron cove and are held on with #4 x 1/4 PK screws. They are intended to hold the fabric on back in the days when fabric glues didn't stick or stay stuck. I believe they have been discussed previously on these pages. I think most people said they didn't bother with them nowadays.

Andrew.

Thanks Andrew, I thought that I hadn’t seen them before. Thanks for solving the mystery :)

Cheers Bill
