Tail wheel steering issue

Forum - Installed a new ABW tailwheel. Previous postings and videos have warned against springs/tension too tight between steering fork and empenage. Please see pictures. Springs seem too tight. What is best way to relieve some of the tension? Chains are already at longest setting.IMG_2830.jpgIMG_2829.jpg

Add a link, or squeeze the links to lengthen them.
Or get some different pitch chain.
One local hardware store here has 2 or 3 different pitches of sash chains.

How tight are they? Jack it up and defect the rudder till it breaks the tailwheel over. Is the chain trying to bend the steering arm? Like posted you can use another link or an AN42B-6 eye bolts help elevate wear.

Maybe a little late for this,
but I woulda got the #3224A t/w assembly with the upturned arms.
I think the arms are a bit heaveier duty,
plus the upturned arms give a better pull angle for easier steering on a Cub.

You'll probably want to reinstall that leaf spring adapter so the head doesn't shift on the spring.
