Highly Qualified Judges Needed for NH STOL Exhibition

I have been authorized to put out a call for Persons of High Moral Character, Persons with Exceptional Eye Sight, Persons of Unquestionable Judgement to help with the 2018 New Holstein Short Field Takeoff, Landing and Flour Drop event, to be held on Sunday, July 22, with pre-event briefing to commence at noon.

Those who are interested should be able to see out of at least one eye, should be fit enough that they can recall being able to bend over to touch their toes, should have not served time for accepting bribes within the last 10 years (well, OK, that may be a little bit too restrictive...let's make it within the last 30 days), should not have had their judgement questioned by their significant other for at least the 24 hours before the event (this should put most of you in the clear if you leave your significant other behind and arrive at NH by Friday).

We have had a really great group of people in the past help out, and I am just wanting to be a little more proactive in getting people lined up this year. Lou Furlong is going to miss this year's event, unfortunately, so we will be looking for someone to lead the group of judges.

Please respond here, or pm me.

It can be a hot job, you have to be able to ignore the constant roar of the crowd, have to be able to withstand the verbal abuse from those who felt you didn't quite get the measurements just right...you get the picture. The pay, though, is OUTSTANDING, in that SJ (having conferred with Laura regarding the importance of the NH STOL and Flour Drop in keeping the world properly balanced) has graciously offered to TRIPLE...Yes, Folks, I repeat TRIPLE our pay for participating as Judges or in helping set up the event. Here is a photo of the handsome group who helped set up the STOL event last year, just after receiving their pay last year...

(editors note...I did not provide names for those who helped, as a notable % ...100%...of these were out on a "work release" program)

Seriously, this is a fun event and we count on your help to make this happen. Please respond here, or pm me, so that I know who we can count on.

Thanks, Randy! The turnout for this event the last few years has been incredible, and that is all due to how well organized and run it its!

We probably all failed SJs stringent requirements but we do as good as we can. Hope to do my part again this year. Larry v.

I woulda considered coming and judging but there's no way I'd be able to wear those judges pants with my bony skinned up legs. Must be mandatory apparel.

I may be wrong but that probably won't stop me from arguing about it.

Yes! Jim, "Golden Pipes" Dickerson, aka "Big Deal" Dickerson has been signed to a contract for this year's event.
