That is awesome, interesting how AOPA and EAA have seen the interest in this type of flying and events.

Any more updates on how the field is looking? Looks like it’s been wet that direction. Given a chance to dry out I bet it’ll be nice and green.

Was still raining yesterday morning. Hopefully that was it and it will be nice for the next few weeks. Got my competition prop installed over the weekend along with the nitrous system installed so you better get that new Thrustline Mod dialed in on yours.

Awesome! I bet you’ll like that 80” Sensenich. My nitrous system should have a field approval by the end of the week. Do you know how high helium is right now? On a serious note, how close are you to being done with your 10 to 1 top end?

I hope the sun comes out and the wind blows next week and dries everything out. Getting lots of rain this weekend which hopefully means next weekend will be good.

Arrived in Hondo on Sunday after flying my 185 down from Alaska, so no excuses for you guys/gals not coming.

Been here 3 days and not a drop of rain so far (although best chance of the week is tomorrow). Grass is in really good condition as you can see from the pictures below. It's also been crop dusted to kill back any bugs.

More pictures of the set up to follow.

By the way the competition will be live streamed on our's and AOPA's Facebook page.

Took these photos yesterday throughout the afternoon.

    The registration/breifing/award ceremony tent.

Looking from the tent south at the spectator area and then non-competitor aircraft camping. Pretty sure we have enough grass prepared. Oh, and all got crop dusted again after I took these pictures.

At the south end of the non-competitor aircraft camping area which goes north to the spectator area which is just below the tent.

We’d prefer it not be used until practice Friday afternoon. It’s gonna get pretty tore up on Saturday so we’d like to keep in as good a shape as possible.

That's understandable. It looks like the runway closure notams start at 7 Friday morning.

SuperCub.org had an awesome showing. KevinJ came in first in Traditional STOL and Obstical, txpacer came in second in both events and I got 3rd in Obstical with a Husky in 3rd in Traditional STOL. To note txpacer was in his wife's 135 hp L21 on 26" Airstreaks.

As usual I didn't get many pictures and the ones I got are of airplane parts and pieces. I did get a sunset picture that I entered in the calendar contest and SJ has that thing about posting those photos to social media. Here is an interesting AOA indicator on Aviat's test airplane along with some slats they had been experimenting with.

Aviat's experimental test plane. From talking to Stew Horn sounds like they are going to get away from the slot and keep moving forward with the split flap.
