To a foriegn land for me today. Warning, graphic images! To Forsyth, yes not so foriegn. But for a laundromat, and a new bachelor after 13 years. Yikes!

Practice and you can dump them petty quick. Having worked on a hydraulic flap dump system that got stock was an eye opener. Yu could pull the flaps but you couldn't dump them. Fixed with a few o'rings but would be a bad day if you need to get rid of them.

My airplane cost less than any of my neighbors cars....... It’s all about choices, and the freedom to make the ones you want to. And besides, even if some on here are “rich”, good for them. I’m kinda tired of people slamming those who have worked hard, found a career that’s fulfilling and pays well, and now enjoy what they’ve earned. I’ve been on my own since I was 15, couldn’t afford college, worked multiple jobs to pay for an aviation education and ended up doing well with my career. I don’t feel the need to apologize to anyone. Sorry for the rant, I’m done now.

Didn’t fly anywhere this weekend, but fixed an annoying problem from rebuild. Skylight was built 1/2 inch too high on left side.

Flew up to Greenville to check out the status of Folsom's DC3 on amphibs. It hasn't flown in several years but they are making great progress getting it airworthy again. One could say that the Cub Special in this picture really makes the shot.

That's good news. That is the only DC-3 I have ever flown in, off and on the water! A memorable ride.

The smoke moved east this weekend.

    Storm Friday evening:

Sunday morning quick ride in the Cub:

Then off to Montana in the Pilatus, above the smoke!

Bouncing through turbulence on approach to 13.

    smokey

When my dad was helping me put them on at the end of the 14 hr Saturday he said what was wrong with me. I said isnít this fun? He laughed. I said why couldnít you have gotten me hooked on drugs or something. It would have been cheaper.

    The floats are edo 339-JHS

Still climbing. I had my Mom with me and was headed up high so we could see from Leech lake in the north to Mille Lacs in the South. Even with the smoke vis was excellent last night.

I get easily distracted. Had to drop off some log books and got my feet wet. I sure do like being able to get fuel.

I let 10 year old Jacoby show me how to fly while I pumped the gear. Itís mind boggling how well he can fly and get us around with out seeing over the panel. Heís getting a handle on the 180, better than most owners.
