Took my son flying out into the Monument Valley area last week. He had the good camera and got quite a few pictures.

Great trip to Eastern Oregon today with a buddy to look at a Stinson to buy. No pics, but experienced ground speeds from 29 to 120. The wind was, shall I say, influential.

Hey Eddy Lewis, those are very interesting photos. Much different perspective of Monument Valley than usually seen.

Yes lots of really neat rock formations on the way down to monument valley. Some of those pictures are close to Bluff and Mexican Hat just northeast of Monument Valley.

The storms of last week are now passed and we are in the idyllic days of Summer. So went and got the Cub back in the water.

Then evening rides for guests. Boat traffic on the lakes is WAY increased this year.

Cubus: clear, cool, low humidity days are the absolute best for float flight-seeing!!!

I would like to see a full description, tips, and some pix of your airplane lift. It looks well designed to hold a beautiful airplane.

Paul, I'll see if I can dig up some closer specific shots of the lift. It's a Sunstream hydraulic scissor lift. Needs to be in at least 5 feet of water in order to compress enough to let the airplane on and off. This one has a turntable, but I never use it. Just come into the dock, unload, position the airplane on the lift (easy) and hit the remote key fob for up. When leaving I load up on the lift, do engine check and then key fob for down. It's really easy to use.

I agree res this last week for flying! This was last night, Debbie and I were out on another lakes patrol.

Ripped the -12 down some muddy water on the Red River yesterday. Had my favorite wingman with me too!
Just a blessed days bouncing around on the sand.
    Especially at 65 degrees!

Made a new friend at the airport several months ago when I saw him pull his 182 out of a hangar that had recently sold. It was just after lunch on a Sunday and we had our usual Sunday morning river run with lunch at Clayton's BBQ with a gaggle of Super Cubs. Jason asked me if I was one of those guys in the big tired airplanes and that he wanted to do that. Fast forward and now he owns Ron Massey's L21 former Spirit of New Holstein and he made his first gravel bar landing yesterday. We had 5 Cubs on the bar for our Sunday morning meeting of the minds.

I can just barely see the fresh needle tracks in his arms. Pretty soon a lighter and spoon will show up in his pics. He’s going to have so much fun he’ll forget about how much he has spent and is going to spend!

Speaking of Ron Massey, how is he doing? Is he still with us? I first met Ron in the mid 90’s when I lived in Texas and had my Super Cub. Super guy!

Ron is good, stays busy riding motorcycles. Stops in from time to time between his travels to a from Dallas.

    Steve.

I will be in the area around Sep 5th. If you allow spam cans, I would like to join your meeting of the minds. What time of the morning do you convene? I can take out the low hanging shrubs.

    On my way to Arkanstol.
