Where did you fly today?

A couple of supercubbers at the northernmost point of the lower 48. Northwest Angle of Minn. Mr Powell caught an elusive and majestic eelpout.

Many fish were harvested and consumed.

Ah...so...the famous yet elusive eelpout. AKA Burbot, Lota Lota, and Mud Shark to lesser fish subject to their predation especially at night. Best poor man's lobster deep fried with beer batter or boiled and dipped in butter. I got paid to catch them for Alaska F&G, write a species Bibliography, and cashed every check. Ate them after.

Gary

I think the proper old school term is "rough fish" or just "yuck"...

I heard he was a fish killing machine!

A report from the field from today's travels:

Rick Papp and Randy Murphy alive and well in South central FL
They have a couple good looking girls cooking for them and bringing them cold beers
It was great to meet one of the original corner stones of SuperCub.org in Murph
They have a great setup in the quiet country of south Florida

The dogs and I took a trip to the Brazos this afternoon. Paco kicked back and enjoyed the afternoon while Chewy and Dozer played in the river.

Anyone still running 24x11x4? I have a spare set that I never use if you know of anyone needing some. I run them on my j-3 with an 85 stroker and they do fine except braking not too spiffy

Saw some sort of cub a couple days ago at 0S9,
it had 4" wheels and 25" fatties. Looked pretty good.

Wind finally quit blowing for a bit so I loaded the mongrels and we explored the river. The coyotes howling across the river got their attention. Spring is definitely here.

Was in Wanaka New Zealand and got to fly with Sue Telford in her Maule 235 the other day with my wife of almost 30 years Wendy!
Sue is the President of the woman’s aviation association in NewZealand as well as the GM of Classic Flights at the airport.
This area reminds me so much of Alaska, Idaho, in the look and terrain. Beautiful country down here.

You’re having lots of fun Doug. Did she let you be PIC?

Were you able to go hunting while you were there?

I run them on my ‘46 J3 w/C-90 and love them. Could aways use a spare set. Email pksvoboda@aol.com or call nine1three2seven one87threethree.

Hi Steve, last picture shows a Farmhouse covered with snow up to the roof. We had really lots of snow here in Austria and surrounding states. Have a nice Easter Weekend
Happy landings, Anthony
