Where did you fly today?

Surprised to find a Skywagon parked next to me at Linden, NJ.
Linden is under the approach to Newark, home to news helicopters from NYC and surrounded by fuel farms.- as far from scenic as one can get.
Long ago I went to Linden to retrieve, dismantle and haul home a Ryan PT-22 which my employer had purchased for $800. Inside the big hangar was a PBY with no fabric on the wings along with a large batch of new Scan Type 30 Widgeons. I wonder what happened to those planes?

Everybody's from somewhere-- maybe they're actually from Montana.
I think a lot of airplane-owning LLCs are as much about sheltering from liability as from tax.

Massachusetts has no tax on aviation.
No sales tax, excise tax or tax on parts or repair. There is a nominal yearly registration fee.
Best tax deal in taxachusetts is owning a plane.

Iquisivi province central Bolivia. Departed SLCB and landed a hilltop above a remote village at ~12,000 ft. Perfect day with the 21K+ Andes snowcaps in the distance. 20190331_071638.jpeg
The local shepherds were quite enthralled by the Cub.

Today's forecast 30 knot gusts didn't show up. I flew an almost bumpless ride south to see how the confluence of the Grande Ronde and Snake River looked.

Lower Hells Canyon

Hells-Canyon1.jpg

The Grande Ronde and Snake are both quite muddy right now.

And another view of Rogersburg State Airport (D69) "closed until further notice."

Ben told me you two had SLOWY flown up to the resort 8)

We had the first of our "summer" guests this weekend so needed to stay within striking distance of home base.

Here we are enjoying "Summer" at the lake....

Brought this sex machine home from Florida on Wednesday. 9 hours of bad air, Jet A pumps messed up at every fuel stop, and crossing a bay at 300 ft with low ceilings, but it was worth the trip!

Cool airplane, the front part looks like it goes like crazy the back part not so much. What dash # is the engine?

-20. I bought it for a good enough price I can justify putting a -15 or -27 on it instead of throwing parts at the orphan engine when the time comes.

Evening patrol. The Space Station went over while I was hanging out by the fire.

A week ago Friday there was a rockslide that occurred about 30 minutes after I passed through the area. On my return trip home I had to detour around the slide area. When I got home I got in the Cub and took a few pictures and videos of the slide. I then shared it on Facebook for the area residents to see. It generated a lot of interest, so much so that I had a TV station out of Denver call and interview me. It was interesting to see how intrigued they were that I would be able to just go get in my plane and go take pictures. I did have a copilot in the back to fly while I took pictures. IMG_7089.JPG

Actually I didn’t have a dog in the back, but I did have my 77 year young dad in the back seat. He did enjoy getting in on the action and gave me a hard time later that I failed to mention him in the interview. Ha ha. I told him I did mention him but that they cut that part out, or something like that.

You guys need to copyright your photos, then charge the news outlets when they use them!
