Where did you fly today?

Henny You are living the dream. Getting paid to fly a cub (and Beaver) on floats in the back country. Bill
Thanks Bill. Completed the elusive Trifecta yesterday. Beaver in the morning, Cub in the afternoon, Skywagon in the evening. And I didn't even mix up the three different trim locations!

Three Cubs at a cabin in Alaska. How cool is that? One from Idaho, one from Wisconsin and one from Las Vegas. Time to wind down Alaska (can you say "post vacation depression") and, weather permitting, perhaps I will see you fine folks at NH and/or Oshkosh, and my East Coast brethren at Greenville.

Bill

This was the stock prop and it ran pretty close to expected numbers. They were testing a 2 bladed M/T on an O-360 powered 172 and wanted to get a feel for what the Husky was pulling first. I'd like to upgrade to the M/T 2 blade for "safety" reasons but when the idea was presented to my wife she said it was just an excuse to get fat... :(

Dave and I met over 30 years ago, he was introduced to me as my CFI. He and I had many great adventures flying around the Hawaiian Islands, including my first solo at Ford Island. Dave is a Captain for an airline now, but took some time to come hang out. Sandbars, bush strips and some Lodge time made for a great weekend.

Got to fly a J4 home for a friend's today. Small world, it was bought from Robbie Bach. I first met Robbie at Broadhead Grass Roots flyin back in 99. This rattly Travel Air 4000 landed and was covered with oil from stem to stern. I walked over to the pilot and offered to help mop up. 2 hrs later he says let's go make it dirty again. learned who it was over campfire beers

this is Livingston, Montana. Met a guy here named Gabriel that has a PA-12 I think. I told him about N999MP, and we went round on mods. We cub chat for awhile. Very nice guy. He said he knew a bunch of cub guys, like Steve pierce, Steve Johnson, Doug, etc. He then asked if I knew any of y’all. For the life of me, I don’t know why, but I said “nope.”

Last weekend my Buddy and I met a young fellow at Wood River Lodge that was interested in becoming a commercial pilot. He helped my friend and I load up and get ready to leave, while doing so I realized that this young man was very knowledgeable and had already completed ground school at 17. The skeeters were driving my California based buddy mad, so I promised that fellow I would come back and take him flying. Yesterday the weather was perfect for mountain flying, so I jumped in TopCub and flew some fish out to the lodge, the owner has 10 kids including the young fellow I met. With dads blessing Joe and I hopped in TopCub and did some Cub stuff in the beautiful Wood River Valley. We even found a huge grey wolf on a bull caribou kill.

Stid2677, you have probably ruined that young man's life. Now he'll probably be an aviation junkie like the rest of us!

That family lives in Haines when not at the lodge! I have taught most of the kids in Hunter Education classes, including Joe. They moved up here not long after I moved back.

Thank you for taking him flying. The entire family are great people, and willing to help with anything. We need more like them.

Well, the bloom is off the fireweed, as the summer wraps up a few friends and our EAA chapter had a overnight camp trip to Lake Minchumina. Great trip with amazing people.

Was up at dawn this morning chasing the Golden Hour,, nothing I had in mind was working out for lighting and timing. I had given up and decided to practice at a local gravel strip. After landing I was taxing back and saw this patch of berries........
