Got the RANS packed with ebike, and 10 hours of fuel, for a flight by the Tetons and then West Yellow for breakfast then who knows where.. Food out for the pets, and all other ducks in a row for a couple days absence. FIVE SECONDS before opening the HydroSwing door, the power goes out and I'm grounded.

That's what you get for living off the grid.

? I'm grid tied, (14 years now) my solar, wind, and hydro all are, it's the local utlity. IF I was still off grid (28 years), this would not happen! Got a 4kw welder/ generator in the hangar, but it's 120, door is 240. I've kicked around various schemes in the past: transformer, he my a and hyd. circuit off the tractor, but it's such an extremely rare occurrence it's hard to justify the hassle.. This is what's called a First World problem I believe.

In Montana.... but I can't pin it down. I was thinking near Winnett or maybe lower Musselshell. Looks like Missouri breaks country, but I can't identify the river.

Fair guess to say none of us are en route around the world. Was able to wish her well and good luck for the remaining portion of her journey. NW through AK this time of the year seems like quite the feat, not to mention all of The Far East through Russia! https://flyzolo.com/ Pretty impressive for a 19 year old

Yesterday a chilly flight to the Bow String flyin in the J-3. The slow flight home (52 mph ground speed) gave me plenty of time to enjoy the fall colors here in norther Minnesota. Today was a local flight with my wife so she could enjoy what i was looking at yesterday. I would love to share the colors with you, but not smart enough to get the photo out of my album ( 1 photo) and attach it to this post.

A long closed Oak Bluffs airport which much to my surprise has not been gobbled up by the builders. One of the two runways appears to have been mowed and is still suitable for use.

Flew out to west river country to visit some Distributors. Descending into Faith, SD was interesting. A bit of an ink pot with strong wind above 500 feet. Quit below that.

Not used to all these lights...

Clean hotel in town still old school.

No, this is the one just North of Herkimer. The C130 one just North of Hamilton is gone now.
