Last water of the year. Floats coming off next week. My Javron Cub was completed the end of May of 2015. I have 533 hours on it, and close to 400 on floats in Alaska. It's been a good run so far, and Lord willing, more to come.

Does wrenching on airport construction equipment count? My project actually went back together today as designed.
Resting now trying to figure out what I forgot![]()

Fairbanks-Fort Yukon-Venetie-Arctic Village-Venetie-Fort Yukon-Fairbanks...
I can't say that I've ever watched any of the "reality TV" shows made in Alaska. No cable/satellite TV at my place! I've known Heimo since he worked for Roger Dowding in the summer, I've flown him out of FYU many times...There are film crews in the N Fork of the Chandalar and Eagle that we fly around. The 'irk' brothers fly the crews into Heimo's place.

I got to tag along on a Fairbanks-Venetie-Arctic Village-Fairbanks run once. It was an interesting flight with low ceilings in Venetie and a pop-up IFR into Arctic Village.
Went out a few miles East of town. Saw a few hundred elk and some deer. No really big bulls. After chasing the elk off, Landed at a friend's ranch strip and at another friends place nearer home. Been foggy but nice this A.M..
Landed a new LZ today. Interesting approach with three sets of low, medium and high power lines up river and it is at the base of a very tall bluff to the south which are our predominant winds here that makes for an interesting approach.

Not sure which one you are referring to. It is directly west of town following the threes sets of transmission lines from the power plant on Lake Graham.

You live and learn. Although I have the scars to remind me, these wires are easy to see.

I think this is the one you are thinking of.

Not sure, All I remember was following SJ: OVER the pipeline then immiediately UNDER a biggish powerline and landing... hence the name.

Remember, These are the Good old Days!
That would be it.
Old naval aviators would need to forget their old habit of snagging the #3 wire....
Cessna Skywagon-- accept no substitute!
This is the one you are thinking of Kirby. Hard to see the single wire above the bridge piling. Lou knows where it is.

Flown under thousands in my dreams. At least I am not usually nekkid. 18 landings today; never went anywhere.
