Former Super Cub owner, and a current Husky owner this is spot on. Thanks for the laugh. Husky party + Boulevard Wheat. SJ will probably recognize it. Click image for larger version.

Yep. Love my plane. No regrets. Just seems that the husky group is a bit more independent and doesn't really get together as a group much?

I party with plenty of husky owners. Swing by my hangar sometime. Cold beer in the fridge.

Although I knew one geologist that owned one and he was a good guy, most are flown by Goverment types in AK.
No one wants to be associated with that crowd...

Really? All the Husky owners/pilots in Alaska I know are non government types. About 7 or 8 off the top of my head. Not that Im a government type, but what is wrong with being associated with "government types"? School teachers, police, fire fighters, highway maintenance crews, military, what is wrong with these types?

Husky out number Super Cubs around here. Actually work a little better than a cub around here cause everything is so far away and the density altitude doesn't bother them as much.

I wonder how Aviat decides on the N numbers on the airplanes built for the open market. I think they throw darts at a board with letters and numbers on it. They seem to be all over the place with N numbers. I like seeing an old PA18 with its original number, C180's too. Never been a fan of vanity numbers.

Many of those tail numbers are chosen by dealers, others are just some contraction of “Husky”, as in HU or HY.

Some dealers and factory use the WY, for Wyoming on their N numbers.

Gary is my brother. Hotel Yankee on here. His tail number is 399HY. Mine is 85HY. We live about 10 miles apart. Both have grass strips at home. He has all black stripes, I have the red stripe. Thinking the top pic is Gary but third one is definitely me. I remember that cub next to me. Nice cub.

My tail number is the last digits of serial number plus HY for "husky" I believe.

There's a lot of runway there to be that close to that house. Bet there were some bricks **** that day. Wowza. My first real mountain experience was at Johnson creek. Tried to ready myself as much as possible before going but still Intimidating to say the least for a flatlander. By the second day I was feeling much more comfortable. Love that place. Wish I could spend more time out there.

Bill took this 2 years ago of us stoping for a swim on North Fox Island. Really cold water! Major shrinkage!

I'm just poking fun at some 'old' government pilot types that frequent this site. I don't have anything too serious against
the Husky...The pitch trim and the 1400 screws that hold them together is about it.

Yeah I always wondered why they went with the bungee trim.
