It is amazing how little I knew about flying/sailing forecasts until the internet and iPAD. Side note: Highly recommend Garmin BlueChart (iPAD/Android) for ocean seaplane pilots. BlueChart app has tides, water current speeds/direction, bathymetric info (console edition has 3D) and detailed forecasts.

However, all the technology we have can break or produce errors that may harm the outcome! Always, be ready to use common sense just in case. There was a guy named Mau https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mau_Piailug from Yap Island (the Micronesia atoll where women are topless), who used sticks of wood to navigate vast stretches of ocean. I had the privilege of meeting him when I helped setup up UNIX servers, in Micronesia, for the first public internet in 1995. I am a huge proponent of traditional navigation and encourage everyone to read "Bowditch, American Practical Navigator" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowditch's_American_Practical_Navigator .

Hopefully can post some pictures of fish this weekend!!
