Where's our progress update????

Ya I know
Things have slowed a bit since moving to the Hangar
I had to cover and paint the flaps and ailerons so they are done and ready to install.
A couple more things to paint Wing root fairings and a blue stripe on the tank covers.
Finished the fuel lines from tanks to fuselage last weekend so it's ready for some fuel and that first engine start.
So I have all the little details to finish up
Hopefully we will be flying this thing in the landing environment this spring

Where in Michigan are you located? Do you still need a DER or DAR? Love the colors and scheme!

Thanks Kurt
I'm at C04 Oceana County Come on over some Weekend
I do still need a DER I have a # for a guy Ted just need to make contact

I will have to do that. I’m in Kalamazoo area. I have a Blue and White Husky. Are you around on the weekends? Weekdays? What does your hangar look like?

Kurt

More fun with fuel lines and all the details

So I have been struggling to find a connection between the tank and fuselage other than the standard hose and clamp
I found these AN push lok fittings and think they will work without some hose clamp holding tight.

Antenna mount and wing root fairings
I wanted a little more support for this Com/GPS Antenna This backing plate should do the the trick

Inner wing root panel with Fuel sight gauges

Now that the Prop is on I hope to get to that first engine start real soon

Curious why you reinforced the antenna mount? Functionally, there are no great places to mount antennas on a Supercub type aircraft, as there are no metal panels with enough surface area to make a good ground plane. But, mechanically, the fairings hold antennas just fine due to antennas very low wind load.
Nothing wrong with your mount plate but you're going to need to pull the antenna off every time you remove the fairing (common item during maintenance).

I guess after mounting what seems like thousands of antenna on all types of aircraft and always using some type of backing plate and with this fairing being only .020 it really needed something. May be some more overkill but another 4 screws and it's off.

I use the pushlocks a lot in offroad world, they're great! We run them at 60 psi without issues

Interesting - Could you post the part number and source for those push lok fittings?

Got on some scales over the weekend

Just looking for a Sanity check
Doing my W&B There is no way I can load this thing up to 2300# without going out of CG aft real Quick
I'm using 60" forward of LE for Datum 62.5" * 1061 for main weight and 260" * 66 for tail weight and get a CG of 74
CG Range 71 to 81

I think if you play with it a little you’ll find you’re better off than you think. I just re-did my W&B and my numbers are close to yours. I found you will obviously have to limit your baggage to how far back you go (I have extended baggage), but I had little trouble getting to gross. Stayed right at the aft limit admittedly.

I'll get this back on and I believe we will be ready for final inspection
