King KT76C or Garmin GTX 327?

The King KT76C and the Garmin GTX 327 seem to be close to the same price. Which unit do you guys recommend?

Same question for the King KY97A comm radio and the Garmin GTR 200.

    Thanks, Roger

No experience with the GTR 200, but generally I prefer Garmin to King. King seems to be stuck in the 1970's. I like our GTX 327 and 330. Easy to use and reliable.

Is it just me, or is King slowly becoming Narco?

I am generally a huge Garmin fan, but in the transponders case I'd have to lean to the King. If for no other reason than to able to later plug in a King KT 74 transponder. It's plug and play in the Kt 76A's tray, and is the most economical mode S ADS-B transponder out there (By a rather large margin).

Garmin has a built in flight timer. And a count down timer...nice for holding and approach work if you're doing that kind of thing. I like the individual buttons for each digit that the Garmin has as well as the VFR button that snaps it back to a 1200 squawk with one push.

It's only money. Does ADS-B affect your choice of xpdrs?
