    late model Cessna180/replace R with K engine

Just thought I'd see if anybody did this as I have my doubts that it would be easy paperwork. If a person had a recently majored O 470 K, could it be installed in place of a tired 470 R on a 70's 180. The main difference between the two engines is the extra set of counter weights on the crank of the K.
    Thanks

Sell the K and use the proceeds to overhaul the R.

I went thru this on my '59 182. A K with an R engine. Needed a field approval. I think there is a slight difference in the carb also. Do like Mike said.

It is interesting that if you have an R and want to convert it to a Pponk 470-50, you need to replace the R crank with one from a K.
