Airplanes given away on Price is right TV show?

Anyone remember a Piper Colt given away on the Price is right back around 1960?
I have always heard one of my projects was awarded on The price is right but only have found pictures of a Grumman tiger in 1960?
I am getting ready to clean up the hanger and try to return as many of my tucked away projects back to the air either in my hands, friends hands or at the least others who have a history of finishing projects. The local story on my Colt is that it was awarded and then promptly purchased by our flight school and kept on the line until sold to one of it's renters around 8 years later. All owners along the way have passed along the story with the plane but I would love to see a video of our little Colt when it was new!
Also curious if this was just a case of someone mixing up planes as this story has traveled with this Colt from at least 1968 It would be pretty funny for a fictional story to have been passed along for such a long time!
I have not had any luck contacting the network as of yet but I thought maybe someone might remember something about it.
    Thanks

Thanks! That's the same clip I found but no piper colt? It's a 1960 so I guess if the story is true it could have been anytime from 60 right through 61 I would guess.

You may have better luck posting this on shortwing.org.

Over the years I've seen references ( TAP?) to the "TPIR Colt".

Maybe we can get some comments TODAY on what the Colt price was THEN?

60-61 would have been black and white broadcast. First color TV's came in the mid 60's as I recall. Yep, there goes that age thing!

If my memory is correct, it was a base price of $5995.00.

    That sounds right to me!

Probably included a VHT-3 "Coffee Grinder" as well?

Just was searching for the video myself. However that was my uncle that won the airplane. My Dad and Uncle had soloed as that was as far as they went before they sold it. However, my dad still had a love airplanes. We would always go to the airport and watch airplanes, takeoff and land. His love for aviation sparked mine. It’s the reason I’m a pilot today. I’m away on a trip right now, not sure if anybody’s still looking at this thread. See it’s from 2012. But I do have a picture somewhere. I believe the call sign was N53Z or N52Z. It was white with blue.

Yes that was the colors. As I replied above. That was my uncle that won the plane on the price is right in 1962 I believe. He also won a brand new kitchen and some other things. He passed away in 2004, wish I would ask him a little more information about it. I have a picture at home. When I get back I’ll look for it. I believe the tail number was N53Z or N52Z.

There was a Colt based at our airport in Ridgeland SC about 20 years ago that the mechanic said was from the Price is Right show. It later suffered from a landing accident at a nearby airport and I didn't see it anymore.
