Mn is bone dry. We have about 150,000 acres buring right now. This chart shows the 33 aircraft working the fires. Some names might be familiar with some of you as many are from out of state.\

Those guys flying are having a rough day in the air! I've been outside working and I nearly have to tie myself down to avoid getting blown away. Gusts over 40. I have had a couple of planes fly over my place low and I believe one was the Baron out of Bemidji. I'd hate to see some idiot toss out a cigarette and start a fire in this weather. Drier than a popcorn fart!!! A major tinderbox out there.

This fire was started by a combine bearing going out and dropping hot metal last week---winds gusting to 40mph. I saw this and two other fires one afternoon. Corn and soybeans burn easily when it's this dry.
