For local lunch flight, 7B3 Hampton NH is great for Cubs. There are bunch of other places to visit, and it is along the coast. Cheap Mogas.

It is funny no one mentioned Katama ( Edgartown Martha's Vineyard) All grass multiple runways and a great restaurant on the field and you walk to the beach adjoining the airport.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention to arrive safely in a well preserved body but rather to slide in sideways, well used up proclaiming "WOW What a Ride"

    Voyager Village in Wisconsin 9WN2
nice little strip right on the golf course. Has a great country club to grab lunch and golf a few holes.
Great spot, and Siren is close by which has good fuel prices and auto fuel.
Fast or slow, always low, freedom of flight soothes the soul.

    Palmer, AK:

    - Short flight even for a fat and slow PA-12 (or is that the pilot)
    - Relatively low key atmosphere, although it can get hectic at times in summer
    - Go over to Forestry, hang out with No. 1 son, pretend I am a contributing member of society
    - Great place to go for a day in the summer: walk into town, hang out at the local market festival thing, have a sandwich, head out
    - 5 - 35 minute flight from the cabin depending on the way the wind is blowing
    - Pretty spectacular sights nearby

Hey Glenn, stu and I will show you around when you get up. My other fav. Airport is almost ready for landings, all 1800' is open but the last 4-500' NW end is narrow-60' or so the rest is fairly smooth and mowed . The rest is also 100' wide. One of the locals landed in a Hawk UL said it wasn't bad.

    Nor Cal CA66

In Nor Cal, CA66, Monterey Bay Academy. WWII Grass Stearman Strip on the ocean south of Santa Cruz. Park your plane and have a picnic on the table overlooking the beach. Departs over the ocean and beach. Not open on Saturday. Keep it a secret!
