For those of you that follow the Air Races in Reno every year, we have lost a real legend of the sport. Alfred Goss who flew the "Warlock" Race #75 SNJ-6 and another team member, Steve Ballard from Anchorage, a Fed Ex pilot, were killed in an accident near Bakersfield, CA yesterday. No apparent reason for the accident yet, but NTSB is looking into it. A real sad day for all of us on the Warlock Air Race Team. This would have been our 30th year racing.

I read a post on a warbird page that said Lyle Shelton, former owner pilot of Rare Bear, passed away recently as well.... Joe

It was quite a day there with probably 500+ folks that showed up. Many race pilots, airplanes and a couple of 500 mph low passes by Tiger and the "Strega" P-51. "Warlock" and Al Goss were a legend at Reno and there is going to be a tribute this year up there as the number "Race 75" is going to be permenantly retired. The Warlock crew will be there one more time and the Wednesday Warlock Party and the Warlock Band will be there!
