I spoke with B&C today and the rep said shielded wiring was not required for the certified 40A B&C (model BC400) alternator. They stated linear regulators (model BC201) create no noise problems. Anybody have any different experiences here?

I have started getting a two tone warble when transmitting. I traced it to my 30 amp B&C Alt.
Any Ideas for a fix. Been using it 6 years and no problems.

I have a 40 amp B&C alternator wired without shielding on the alternator wires. However, the audio wiring, radio, intercom and headsets are shielded as are the magneto leads. All grounds are routed to a common ground bus. This is a nice quiet system.
