Hey if that's a 32" dia I've got one of those left over from my last boat. Don't remember for sure the pitch. It' was a rebuilt spare but now surplus if you know anyone....

So if you can go into reverse on a super cub does it back to the left at first? :D "the don't need no stinkin bow thrusters club" dave

Thanks. The pitch is on the hub (usually between the blades, sometimes on the shaft end, if you post that or email me, I'll put it out there or buy it if appropriate. My diesel is just 52 horse, so there's a lot of flying involved with navigating this boat, if you had high hp it's probably pitched way wrong for me.
 
I don't remember for sure the HP. It was a big old Cat diesel. (I think from a D10). I had to go down into the engine room to start it. A big lever at the rear of the engine was moved to"start" (all cyclinder compression released), push start button (originally had a pony engine but was changed by someone to electric), after engine started turning move lever to "half", get it running on 3 cyclinders, after that move the lever to 6 cylinders. :D I.m guessing the engine was 5 feet tall and 7-8 feet long? Big bugger, never missed a beat. I'll check the pitch next time I'm at the hanger. I can strap it to a pallot and deliver it to any freight company in NW.

It was on a 52' Monk powerboat . Had to organize a gaggle of ex-wives and girlfriends whenever I took it out :cry: . Pain in the marina. Back and fill, back and fill, back and fill. Some places it was easier to do a 270* turn to get where you wanted!
 
Wow what a small world, I've been kicking around the idea of buying a trawler as alive aboard, since my employer insist that I have a residence in So Cal. So I've been on the Internet looking for trawler info and I saw you're utube clips, and now to find out you're also a supercub.org guy too. My wife and I are both native Floridians and know very mile of your intracoastal trip. Looks like it was quite an adventure! Thanks for sharing it, that way we all get a small piece of the action!

If you're looking for an efficiency type apartment, there's a Willard 30 Searcher in California for sale that has been completely updated. Anyone who knows boats would love to have a Willard. For the price, I don't think you'd get stung with depreciation since it's already about as low as it gets. The Searcher is the least numerous of them, most were made into straight Vegas (excellent too). Of course I'd recommend Atlantic/Prairie, but there's very few of them on that coast.

This is what it looks like when you pull a trawler out for an "annual" (bottom job). We got 4 years out of this bottom by cruising the boat into fresh water for last season.

 
Just got our trawler back in the water - you can compare the color above with what it originally was in the (2min) movie below. I was pretty surprised they could bring a 30 year old gelcoat back.

every where i seen that style stuff(not say its same brand..) it shrinks after getting damp a few times.... the pic is next to dog water dish thats just from drips..... same thing in entry way....

Don't think that will be a problem with this as it is PVC (all of it - no laminates at all), the jury is out on how it will handle direct sunlight though. The original flooring did what is pictured, and shrank over time.

Thanks for that. The Mischief is presently in Fort Meyers (Sweetwater Marina) getting new canvas, so Mrs. Mattson and I decided to do some prospecting in the hills:

 

2nd part of the movie (above) on techniques. Heading with the Mrs. to Fort Myers to pilot the Mischief back to Hernando Beach. The canopy was a victim of Isaac, but everything else rode out the storm (and we had a new canopy already ordered as the old was rotted). A number of boats had their electrical systems damaged (one to the tune of $60,000) when a lightning bolt hit dockside power, but I always disconnect from that (4 golf cart bats + starting bat) when leaving.

JPachl and I've spent a lot of time flying the river looking for parts for those for a local restorer.
When they went out of fashion, they were used for rip rap in the Yellowstone River.

Interesting. Is it like FL/Ga where you look for the concrete pads as they are usually quite prominent (have to look straight down though and look for holes in the treed areas)? If we got a pad located, then would foot it in as the engine/parts are usually located in the underbrush (and not visible).
