Caution - - Thin Ice

Watch out for the ice levels around the Susitna Valley area. It's not as thick as you might think. There is a Cessna 185 (type) with just the wings sticking out of Judd Lake and a friend almost had his cub go through while trapping.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been tempted with the idea of putting on the skis and head to the cabin, but perhaps should wait a bit.

I did hear of 6-8 inches in the Flat Lake area west of Big Lake.

Are there any other reports as to the ice thickness for the central valley / Big Lake , Red Shirt lake area?
How is Lake Hood ??
