Nice Shot, Buddy; loon and everything. I miss the Michigan of my childhood memories. Got to fly over Northern Wisconsin, Western UP, Duluth, and then Northern Minnesota a couple of weeks ago.

    Thanks for posting this photo.

    Great shot.

Even though I look forward to the seasonal change, taking the floats off is hard to do.

It was a great float season this year. Got a moose and finally dialed in halibut fishing.

    Can't wait till next year.

    Don, VERY purty.

My brudder, his wife, and their almost-yooper daughter were out last week. Just for nostalgia, Girlscout and I made a batch of pasties... Good, though.

    Thanks, eh? cubscout

FatCub, Ha Ha, I stand corrected....not really. Was that a little lunacy? Do you need a little downtime on the lake to settle yourself? Maybe watch the Loon -er- Loch Ness Whatever - dive, and then concentrate scanning the surface of the water for a minute to see where it reappears?

Anyone in Fairbanks who waits till the middle of October to remove floats should get in line....

I always put the first week of October down for float removal, and was rarely disappointed.

Tim--was it 93 we all got caught by the early freeze in September? Lots of folks got caught with floats then. I lucked out with the planes out of the water for 100 hr inspections, and just told em to take the floats off. Lucked out on that one.

I think you are remembering fall of '92. It began snowing on about September 8th and never quit until the following April. Hunting season was tough that year. It snowed until late May in '92, also. Short summer...

    Fairbanks float pond...

    Tim,

Nice records on the freezing of the float pond. Care to share your notes on opening day for it? I'm looking forward to that already.

    Thanks!
